Toronto declares the “War on the car” over?

Hey, Rob Ford, you are declaring the “war on the car” over in Toronto.

Are you going to extend highway 400 to the Gardiner? Build additional highways and add lanes? Where will everyone park?

More importantly and as an example – to add HOV lanes to the QEW in Burlington, Oakville and Mississauga, the project cost something like $250 million. I guarantee the cost of adding ‘car capacity’ to additional highways in the GTA will be an order of magnitude greater than the proposed Transit projects.

Where will this money come from? And Mr. Ford plans to cut taxes… .. which is the money needed to build more Subways, and Highway capacity. I’m all for Subways, but they cost more than highways to construct..
