GO TRIP — Georgetown line expansion — illustrated example

Here is an illustrated example of Georgetown line expansion improvements in progress as part of the GO TRIP project. This image illustrates triple tracking and new signalling to improve traffic flow as part of the Georgetown North improvements, quoted from Government media release below:

“ Georgetown North corridor -   Construction commenced in fall 2006 to provide track capacity improvements along the corridor to accommodate two new rush hour trains and limited off-peak service to Mount Pleasant GO Station in North Brampton. ”
