Today is election day. Don’t forget to vote! — our statistics

By shost at 5:12 pm on Monday, November 13, 2006

Thanks to the support of the GOKW.org volunteers and supporters, we received great response to our questionaire on regional commuter and transit issues. All of the responses have been posted, and can be found using the “Candidates Respond” menu on the right hand side of this site.
Our statistics are impressive:

There were 143 total candidates within our coverage area. 113 were contacted, 30 were not reached.

Of the candidates we contacted, 54, or 47.7%, replied, representing around 37.7% of all the candidates running.
A special thanks goes out to all the volunteers and supporters for helping us with this achievement.

And thank you for coming here as you factor transit into your vote. Now please don’t forget to vote, and to encourage your friends, family, coworkers, or neighbours to go out and exercise their democratic right.

Following this election, we will continue to follow the positions of our elected officials, and will summarize the news items relating to commuter transit issues.

When the provincial and federal elections arrive, we will be ready to take action at these levels as well. Don’t forget to visit us again to see what progress is being made toward the introduction of improved commuter options for our region!
